Dr. Chouinard was invited to attend the West Virginia State Medical Association meeting at The Greenbrier last month. Speaking about the opioid crisis in West Virginia, she had the opportunity to present what Community Care West Virginia is doing to address the problem. Dr. Chouinard was also there on behalf of PEIA.
Providing information about a new state wide initiative called SEMPP, safe and effective management of pain program, Dr. Chouinard explained the program is aimed at improving communication among doctors and patients and pharmacies regarding the prescription of pain medications in West Virginia.
